VEEDERSBURG — David M. Harper, 66, Indianapolis, a former Crawfordsville resident, died Monday morning at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Mr. Harper was born June 9, 1903, in Veedersburg, the son of Albert and Effie Morgan Harper. He attended Veedersburg school. He was first married Dec. 23, 1923, to Minnie Williams, who preceded him in death in July, 1967. His second marriage was to Della Mason on Aug. 21, 1968. He retired from R. R. Donneley and Sons Co., Crawfordsville, in 1966, where he had been employed for 23 years. He was a member of First Christian Church, Crawfordsville, Montgomery Masonic Lodge No. 50, and the York Rite. Survivors include the widow, his mother of Veedersburg; three brothers, Gordon, of Punta Gorda, Fla.; Ross and Blaine, both of Veedersburg; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Harper, during his residence in Veedersburg, was employed as inside foreman at the Veedersburg Brick Co. and also the Casey Brothers brick yard. He had visited his mother Saturday, but had been in failing health for the past year. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville. Rev. Clarence Barr will officiate. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call this afternoon and evening at the funeral home, with Masonic rites to be held 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.  --typed by Walt W


Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.
